Please take some time and read this. It is really important to the smooth flow of joining the game and being a part of the game.

Each day in the game will last ONE (1) real life week. Monday-Sunday. Each Monday will be a new day

Character Pictures - Lately, photographers has been suing sites/blogs etc who use their images without permission. With that said, we will only be using images purchased from stock photo websites. The Mods of this game will be selecting images and placing the character pictures beneath the "Characters Up for Adoption" Section of this site. We will not be naming these characters, that will be your job. But to protect us from a lawsuit, we have to do it this way. All images will be watermarked.

Once you find an image on THIS site that you like/resembles your character, snag it by copying the image number on it. On the application form where it says "Image Code" please enter this number there. We will try our best to ensure the site is current so you won't pick an image that has been taken. If you'd like to send us 2 possible image codes then that's even better.

Biographies - These are important. You will not be allowed to join the game without one. Why? This shows that you put some thought into the character you're playing and you are willing to stick around. Please fill out the form found here and submit it. This is the second step in your application process - the first was picking your images.

Writing Sample - After you send us your biography form, we will get back to you ASAP. If we like what we see, we will askyou for a writing sample. A pain in the butt, we know, but it has to be done. We will not be accepting two-liner posts for this game so we need to ensure you can write at least four solid paragraphs. This game will be played in the third person, past tense. We will not tell you what to write for this or give you a scenario--all we ask is that the writing sample is fresh, edited and takes place in the small town of Oida Cove. We are looking for a length of 300-500 words so make it count.

RULES OF THE GAME

RESPECT EVERYONE! - This should go without saying but we feel we have to stress that. There will be no warning for hate/racism etc against any player. This game is a HATE FREE Zone, which means characters/players within the GLBT community are welcomed and encouraged.
LOA/ELOA - Okay, so we don't need to know where you're going, who you're going with, what youwill be doing once you get there or why you're going. We just want to know that you're going away for a certain period of time and when you'll be coming back. This is common curtesy that we do require so we know what to do with your character and other people who are writing with your character know they'll have to either make alternate plans or wait on you.
These are to be sent in private to the MODs.
ONE and TWO LINERS - We will not accept one or two-liner posts. You're talented and we know you can do better. If your character is having a conversation with another, we will supply a gmail account for the group (for those who doesn't have one) so you can use google docs to write a joint post. Do it together, edit it and one person send it in with both your names. The reason being, we are going to be setting some of the stories in book form as free downloads on the website or through an alternate site and it would be easy on us to not have to find these little posts. And it reads better for the other writers.
POSTING REQUIREMENTS: Each person is required to post once (1) per week. We know everyone has a life outside of the keyboards and we would like to respect that. We also know that it takes some a little more time than others to pull a story together, get the muse talking. The once per week is your minimum but if you can post more and it makes sense for the story you're writing in at the moment then go ahead and do more than the one. But we do require one post for week (except when you are on LOA/ELOA)
CHARACTER NUMBERS - Each person is allowed ONE (1) character to start out and cannot create a second for three months. This is the probational period. After that we can discuss you adding a second character. We will not allow anyone person to have more than three characters at any given time.
PROFANITIES - We know we're all adults. But please try to keep the swearing to a minimum.
RATING - This game is volutnarily rated NC-17. This means there will be adult content and sometimes language. BUT excessive vulgarity will not be tolerated.
We hope it doesn't happen but if you're leaving us take your character with you. While you CANNOT take the image with you, we do require you take the character you've created. Characters left behind will become a part of toe Oida Cove RPG archives and as such we can do whatever we wish with the character. Once you've taken the character, the image will be recycled back into our "CHARACTERS UP FOR ADOPTION" pile.
